Why We’re Called Young Survivalists
We chose the name Young Survivalists because survival is about more than the wilderness. It’s about being prepared for life.
Young people face pressure, disappointment, bullying, uncertainty and challenges they can’t always avoid. They need the confidence, resilience and practical skills to think clearly, solve problems, make good decisions and recover when things don’t go as planned.
Our programs combine leadership, communication, resilience, anti-bullying and practical survival skills to prepare youth for real-life challenges. We don’t teach children to fear the world. We prepare them to face it with confidence.
A Young Survivalist is resourceful, responsible and ready. Someone who can adapt, overcome challenges, lead with confidence and help others do the same.
Skills Schools Don’t Always Teach
Young Survivalists Academy was created to help young people become confident, resilient and capable leaders. We recognized that many youth need more opportunities to practise the skills that are essential in everyday life but are not always taught directly in school. These include:

Our Academy combines leadership development, resilience education, communication training, practical life skills and selected outdoor learning experiences within one structured youth program.
Building Lions, Not Sheep
We call our students lions, not sheep, because we teach them to think for themselves, stand firmly for what is right, and face challenges with courage. A lion does not blindly follow the crowd or allow fear, pressure, or bullying to determine its path. Our students learn to speak with confidence, make responsible decisions, protect others and lead through character-not intimidation. We are not teaching aggression or arrogance; we are developing strong, disciplined and compassionate young people who know who they are and have the courage to become who they were meant to be.
